Contract: Permanent - Full-Time - 40hr per week (on-site)

Scope: Responsible for four nursing complex care wards of between 8 and 15 beds each

The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) will support the Centre Director in ensuring outstanding care is delivered to Patients in line with best practice and the Fairlie Healthcare Group's Core Values and Values Framework, ensuring Patients are treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the MDT to ensure defined and assessed needs of patients are met, in line with evidence-based practice and defined in the Patient's Care Plan and to effectively manage clinical risk.
  • Providing nursing leadership to the qualified nursing staff, acting as a role model and encouraging service development in relation to nursing practice.
  • Building effective partnership relationships with Patients and their significant others.
  • Ensuring clinical areas are safely staffed in respect of skill mix, competency and numbers of staff with regard to Patient dependencies, clinical risk and appropriate resource allocation as per the Centre's agreed Establishment Hours.
  • Overseeing the medicines management system to ensure medicines in the Centre are ordered, stored, given and disposed of in line with the medicines management policies, and that all nursing staff are trained, competent and supervised in the administration of medicines.
  • Providing coordination and oversight to the Centre's GSF processes and accreditation.
  • Providing coordination and oversight to the Centre's IPC processes as the IPC lead for the clinical areas.
  • Coordinating the clinical admissions pathway in respect of patient assessment and safe admission of Patients to the Centre.
  • Taking responsibility for the Clinical Budget for the Centre, ensuring effective allocation of resources and stock management procedures.

The CSM role is very hands-on, working directly with Nurses, Carers and Therapists, so we are looking for someone who is a registered Nurse with an active PIN and who has at least 5 years' experience in directly managing all aspects of clinical services in a similar setting.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Full time onsite Nursing Management, Critical Care Medicine, and Patient Care skills
  • Experience in nursing and acute medicine.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Clinical Governance reporting and action plans linked to quality improvements.
  • Safeguarding Lead, previous experience desirable.
  • Preferred: previous experience in A E, ITU, HDU, CCU, Respiratory, or Complex Care settings.
  • Ideally: experience with Ventilator and Tracheostomy Care.
