We are recruiting a Senior Business Development Executive to help drive the next stage of commercial growth across Gilligan Engineering Services and NDT Electronic Services.
This is not a people management role and it is not a passive account management position. We are looking for somebody who enjoys finding opportunities, understanding what customers actually need and taking personal ownership of the commercial process from first conversation through to proposal, follow up, negotiation and handover.
Working across our Prudhoe and Jarrow businesses, you will sell a broad mix of technical products, services, equipment hire and wider solutions to industrial customers.
The role will include:
- Developing new customers through structured prospecting
- Growing and protecting existing customer relationships
- Identifying genuine cross sell and additional business opportunities
- Conducting customer visits, demonstrations and presentations
- Preparing and proactively following up quotations and proposals
- Managing your own sales pipeline, CRM activity and forecasts
- Working alongside technical colleagues to develop the right customer solution
- Building productive relationships with suppliers and product partners
- Applying sound commercial judgement around pricing, margin and negotiation
We are particularly interested in people with proven B2B sales experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical equipment, instrumentation or a similar industrial environment.
You do not need to arrive as an NDT or radiography expert. Technical aptitude, curiosity and the ability to learn are more important.
What we do need is somebody who can demonstrate that they have personally generated business, manages their own workload effectively and follows opportunities through without needing to be chased.
This would suit an experienced technical or industrial salesperson who wants genuine ownership of their commercial opportunities, customer relationships and pipeline without moving into people management.
