Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. We keep expanding our operating area delivering homes that are built to high standards and reduce environmental impact. Our trades team play a vital role in the provision of our services from repairing and maintaining existing housing stock to managing environmental improvements to provide more families in our community with a home.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and to help us achieve our social mission. On the job you will:

  • Assist Operatives in the installation of planned packages, undertaking responsive repairs and working in void properties, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
  • Support the team with the preparation and setup of work areas, including the movement of materials and tools.
  • Help in the removal of existing fixtures, fittings, and appliances in preparation for new installations.
  • Follow instructions carefully to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the specifications outlined in project plans.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Learn and develop new skills related to but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry under the guidance of experienced professionals in order to provide assistance.
