About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, earn while you learn, and develop the skills needed for a rewarding career in a growing industry. As an Apprentice Heating Operative, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to safely install, service, maintain and repair a range of domestic plumbing, heating and hot and cold water systems. You'll also gain valuable experience working with renewable technologies, including heat pumps and solar thermal systems, helping us deliver more sustainable homes and support our commitment to greener communities.

Working towards your Level 3 Plumbing and Renewables Technician qualification, you'll receive dedicated study time, practical on-the-job training and support from experienced colleagues who are invested in your success. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop skills in:

  • Plumbing and heating installation and maintenance
  • Renewable and low-carbon technologies
  • Fault finding and problem-solving
  • Electrical controls and system testing
  • Health and safety best practice
  • Customer service and communication
  • Working efficiently, safely and professionally in customers' homes
