At Fairford C of E Primary School, we are looking for anexceptional KS2 teacher who shares our ambition to provide children with thevery best education.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2024 confirmedthat Fairford had maintained the standards identified at its previous Outstanding inspection .Fairford wasdescribed as a remarkable school and recognised the strong sense of belongingexperienced by our pupils.

There is a very special culture at Fairford. Our November2024 Ofsted inspection recognised a school in which pupils are proud to belong,behaviour is excellent and children work exceptionally hard.

Inspectors identified a palpable love of learning across theschool and recognised that pupils’ knowledge develops exceptionally well. Ourcurriculum is highly ambitious, carefully planned from Nursery through to Year6 and supported by professional development that enables teachers to deliver itwith expertise.

Reading and language are particularly important to us.Children are immersed in a language-rich environment from Nursery onwards,vocabulary development is prioritised and pupils understand and celebrate thevalue of reading.

We have been recognised for the strength of our inclusivepractice. Pupils who need additional support receive it quickly, and pupilswith SEND flourish alongside their peers.

The opportunity to lead English

Alongside being an excellent KS2 classroom teacher, you willprovide strategic leadership for English across Fairford. You will be buildingupon strong foundations.

At our most recent inspection it was recognised thatpriority is given to vocabulary development in the language-rich environmentexperienced by children from Nursery onwards. Inspectors also recognised thatpupils understand the value of reading and that children who find reading moredifficult receive support quickly.

We want our next English Subject Leader to build on thesestrengths while bringing their own expertise, ambition and ideas.

You will have the opportunity to:

As part of our selection process, two members of theFairford team will arrange to observe shortlisted candidates teaching in theircurrent school. We believe this provides an opportunity for candidates todemonstrate their practice with children they know and within their familiarteaching environment.

The observation will be arranged in consultation with thecandidate and their current school following shortlisting. Shortlistedcandidates will receive full details of the selection process following shortlisting.
