Location – Solihull

Salary £26,436-£30,000 dependent on experience, on-site parking, 20 days holiday allowance, Death in Service insurance, NEST pension and access to a workplace health and wellbeing service.

The Opportunity

My client who has been operating since 2015 is a growing provider of manned security and cleaning services. Their core services include Key Holding, Alarm Response, Lock and Unlocks, Mobile Patrols, Vacant Property Inspections, Manned Guarding, Site Security, Retail security, Concierge Security, Door Supervision and Event Security for a diverse client base that includes Councils, Care Homes, Schools, Academies, Universities, Gatehouses, Checkpoints, Zoos, Commercial and Residential companies.

I am currently working in partnership with them to find an Operations Controller. Based in the control room, you’ll be the nerve centre for their client sites — keeping things running smoothly, coordinating their response teams, and making sure every location has fully trained staff in place to meet contractual requirements. For the right candidate there is the opportunity to become more involved with clients on site. The shift pattern will be agreed but the working week will be over seven days.

What you will be doing:

  • Monitoring alarms and dispatching our response teams promptly
  • Building and managing regional rotas, including support cover
  • Handling last-minute absence, sickness, and cover requests
  • Approving annual leave and maintaining attendance records
  • Liaising directly with clients on scheduling and last-minute requests
  • Keeping databases, spreadsheets, and reporting systems up to date
  • Producing daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports (KPIs)
  • Supporting payroll preparation and resolving wage queries
  • Making staff welfare calls
  • Working closely with the Operations and Service Delivery teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Right to work in the UK, with a checkable five-year work history
  • A valid UK Driving License with your own vehicle
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working independently and staying calm under pressure
  • Well organised, with a good eye for detail
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
