FAIRFIELDS is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance and strategic direction of a growing group of businesses. This is a key senior role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for financial control, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial insight across the group.
This role offers real influence, combining hands-on financial control with commercial insight, leadership, and strategic partnership at a senior leadership level. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with leadership capability and a proactive, business-partnering mindset.
Qualifications & Competencies
- 5+ years in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
- Experience in a group or multi-entity environment
- Background in engineering, manufacturing or construction preferred
- Understanding of a construction industry environment and associated financial requirements (e.g. CIS, reverse VAT etc)
- Strong systems knowledge (Sage, job costing systems, payroll) and experience with CIS
- Commercial, pragmatic, and confident working with senior stakeholders
