Company Description

Fairfield House Vets is a long established and proudly independent veterinary practice based in Uckfield, East Sussex. We have been caring for animals for over sixty years and all services, including our out-of-hours emergency service are provided, on our own premises, by our own veterinary staff. We have an incredible team who pride themselves in the support that is offered to each other; there is always someone to turn to and ask advice from when it is needed. Our team benefits from continual professional development which ensures knowledge is kept up to date and professional standards are maintained. The practice provides comprehensive veterinary care and treatment which includes diagnostic, surgical, medical, dental, x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, laboratory and preventative medical services.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced colleague who can fit into our team. You need to have farm animal experience with an additional interest in small holders, camelids and equines. The role is fast-paced and extremely varied but also very rewarding; from being on a farm to arranging farmers meetings and writing newsletters. We have a single site with all the usual equipment: digital x-ray, ultrasound (small and large animal), dental x-ray, powered equine dental equipment and an excellent nursing and support team. As a truly mixed-practice there is the opportunity to see a variety of equine, farm, small animal and exotics should you be able or willing! You will be expected to be part of the rota for an equal share of OOHs with some Saturday morning consulting blocks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 year post qualification experience including large animals
  • Surgical and medical skills with the ability to handle emergency cases
  • MRCVS qualification and RCVS registered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate and proactive approach to patient and client care
  • Reliable, dependable and hard-working with a good work ethic
  • A team player who is willing to always work together in order to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients and pets.

We are looking for someone who is happy to go the extra mile in order to deliver the gold standard care that we pride ourselves on. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity in a busy and varied role supported by a wonderful team then we would love to hear from you! Come and be part of a truly independent practice whose main aim is to provide the best possible care to our patients and clients.
