Our client is seeking a Database Architect in Burgess Hill, UK. This is a FTE hybrid role with 3 days a week in the office.
Skills Required: NoSQL, Couchbase, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, DevOps
Responsibilities:
- Essential background of working with RDBMS PostgreSQL and Oracle for application development, database placement, design, tuning, DDL promotion, and upgrades.
- Ideally, SQL Server experience in addition to one of the above.
- Design, construct, and oversee complex databases.
- Develop database solutions, analyze structural requirements, and experience in designing conceptual and logical data models.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to pick up new database challenges.
- Ideally, demonstrable exposure to NoSQL technologies like Couchbase and Cassandra.
- Graduate or postgraduate qualifications and ideally worked in a financial company or fintech.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, Jira, Rally, Kanban, and Confluence.
- Good English communication skills.
- DevOps skills including GIT, Liquibase, with cloud exposure; Ansible and Terraform are a bonus.
- Ability to think outside the box and not depend on runbooks.
- Team player.
- May be required to work outside normal working hours if needed.
- Technical qualification is a bonus.
