Job Description

Caring and compasionate support worker required to provide support to service users in their own home. Candidates would need an Enhanced DBS for the role.\\n\\nThe individuals we support have diverse needs, so our carers are expected to provide\\npersonalized care tailored to each persons preferences. The care provided should be of the highest quality, adhere to best practices, ethical standards, and align with Fairbrook\\nHealthcare’s policies and procedures.

Carers should encourage service users independence whenever possible while supporting their personal interests and hobbies. Additionally, carers are expected to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge by participating in ongoing training and development courses focused on safeguarding practices and adult social care.\\n\\nKey responsibilities:\\n Providing personal care and support with activities of daily living such as\\nwashing, dressing, using the toilet, eating and drinking.\\n Assisting individuals with mobility, movement and transfers\\n Medication administration\\n Assisting with meal preparation and dietary requirements\\n Supporting with domestic tasks such as cleaning and\\n\\n Adhering to health and safety standards and ensuring that service users live\\nin a clean and safe environment\\n Promoting and enhancing individuals’ independence and supporting\\nindividuals to access the community, social and leisure activities\\n Documenting the care delivered and maintaining up to date records of\\ncompleted activities, medication administration and any incidents\\n Following all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the\\nsafety of vulnerable adults\\n Reporting any safeguarding concerns to relevant professionals in a timely and\\nappropriate manner\\n Working collaboratively with service users, their family members, other team\\nmembers and other professionals to ensure high standards of care.\\n Carers must be able to communicate effectively with service users\\n Carers must have the communication skills to inform colleagues,\\nmanagement and professionals about the needs of service users\\n Carers to have good problem-solving skills and be able to adapt and address\\nsituations quickly\\n\\nPerson Specification:\\n\\n Experience in care and willingness to undertake further training.\\n\\nExperience:\\n Experience of working in adult social care settings such and domiciliary\\nservices, hospital and care homes\\n Previous experience in a similar role, such as personal care assistant or\\nsupport worker (desirable)\\n Excellent verbal and written communication skills\\n Building rapport with service users\\n Experience of working with individuals with dementia and behaviour\\nmanagement skills\\n Ability to build strong rapport with candidates and other team members\\n Strong ability to demonstrate empathy and demonstrate, respectful and\\ndignified care.\\n Ability to work autonomously in fast paced environment\\n Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety protocols.\\n Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals, families, and\\nprofessionals.\\n\\nPersonal Attributes:\\n Compassionate, empathetic, and patient.\\n\\n Strong organisational skills.\\n Ability to adapt to changing situations.\\n Ability to respect the dignity and privacy of individuals.\\n\\nSupporting service user in their own home.\\n\\nBenefits:\\n\\n * Flexible working hours\\n\\n * Paid Holiday\\n\\n * Bonus schemes\\n\\n * Company events & social hours\\n\\n * Free or subsidised travel\\n\\n * A fully paid DBS check\\n\\n * Mandatory and enhancement training\\n\\n * A role that offers further career opportunities and qualifications
