Fair Ways is a leading children’s services charity based in the Solent, delivering Fostering, Education, Residential and Family services and cares for over 400 children, families, young people and vulnerable adults each year. Fair Ways are looking for a Marketing Officer to be responsible for delivery of the marketing & fundraising strategy for the organisation. In addition to general administration, this will include supporting the delivery of relevant PR and Social Media, event management, grant bid and tenders, external donor activity and fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Leading in Strategic Marketing: To assist in the design and delivery of strategic marketing business plans for a portfolio of Fair Ways services; through the undertaking of ongoing research, market tracking, competitor tracking and identification of the most effective routes to market in order to ensure that Fair Ways maintains consistent achievement of strategic priorities.
  • Specialist content creation and reporting: To support in the implementation of print and digital campaigns across key channels. This will mean undertaking the creation of content in line with team objectives and the planned schedule of charity messaging in order to optimise impact. You will also report on results weekly, to inform and direct any suggested improvements ensuring engagement and consistency of messaging across platforms, both internally and externally.
  • Utilising your great communication skills: To clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders about their marketing initiatives and project metrics. This will be done via attendance at several specific working groups, undertaking regular marketing update meetings in collaboration with key stakeholders assisting in the planning and delivery of significant projects in the local community.
  • Developing Fair Ways Awards and Recognition: To contribute towards the collation, completion and filing of award entries through clear communication with internal teams identifying appropriate awards, supporting the application process, and ensuring that all associated marketing support is provided in line with Fair Ways strategic focus.
  • Supporting event coordination and associated promotional activity: To assist with the smooth running of events providing marketing support. This will include support for internal events consisting of planning, setup, stewarding, photography and videography. This service will also be utilised by all services to externally promote the Fair Ways brand and attract business or aid organisational priorities.
  • Creating and maintaining engaging online platforms: To ensure website content is current and refreshed across all Fair Ways web domains (Wordpress). To create new pages as required, editing all content to fit Fair Ways website template model and ensure strict timelines are adhered to. To agree changes as required and seek relevant sign off, ensuring that Fair Ways online presence remains current, engaging and representative of the charity and its initiatives.
  • Fundraising and Charity marketing development: To work with relevant individuals and teams to develop and support Fair Ways fundraising strategy through relevant research, applications and execution of relevant grants, tenders and events to increase awareness of Fair Ways charitable status and support its development in these areas.

What are the required skills and experience we are looking for?

  • Substantial career experience in a relevant marketing role.
  • An established portfolio of appropriate marketing experience including successful campaigns, Event management, social media management.
  • Relevant qualifications in the marketing field at degree level, or equivalent within a Marketing or Business Administration field.
  • Knowledge or personal experience of the care sector.

Contract and employment details

This is a 1-year maternity contract. The successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours per week with a minimum of 1 day per week based at our central support office in Portsmouth. All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways. Fair Ways are unable to provide VISA sponsorship for this role and all applicants will need to be able to provide evidence of right to work in the UK.
