Where and when do we need you? We are seeking an approachable and professional individual to join our dedicated fostering team. Your role will involve overseeing the end-to-end completion of fostering checks and onboarding compliance, ensuring prospective foster carer files meet our standards and policies, and providing a positive onboarding experience for foster carers. You will need to be a clear and confident communicator, capable of managing sensitive topics effectively. Your belief in Fair Ways’ vision and values will help convey how our processes are vital in safeguarding children. You will be supported by an experienced team and encouraged to develop your skills through our in-house training.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Attention to detail: Generating and distributing foster carer information to create a positive first impression and set clear expectations.
  • Communication: Making outgoing calls, following up on prospective carer information, responding to emails, and managing recruitment queries.
  • Workforce safety and compliance: Building compliant foster carer files, meeting recruitment and policy standards, ensuring a safe environment for children and young people.
  • Event support: Assisting with fostering recruitment and onboarding events, including preparation and attendance.
  • Fostering Panel organisation: Managing paperwork, invitations, updating lists, and minuting meetings.
  • Training coordination: Allocating training to staff and carers, ensuring compliance and good communication with the training department.
  • Flexibility and resilience: Managing a varied workload with good time management and a positive attitude.
  • Trauma-informed practice: Contributing to a compassionate, resilient, and trauma-informed environment.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, primarily based at our Portsmouth office. Candidates must have a full driving license, access to a car, and be able to provide an enhanced DBS. We cannot offer visa sponsorship; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
