The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As our Head of Programmes you will manage our programmes from beginning to end - ie. from when a learner joins our Supported Internship Programme until they have been in employment for 6 months. This includes and is not limited to managing our Programme Coordinators, managing relationships with our programme partners (Mencap, AOD), keeping the Fair Shot team as involved as possible, building a network of Fair Shot employers to take on our learners following their 11 month training programme, monetizing the programme, and supporting both the employer and ex-learners for 6 months. As a Head of department you will also be responsible for upholding our Fair Shot values, contributing to the growth, vision & strategy of FairShot.

Shift pattern: 5 days a week flexible working (3 days in office, 2 at home)

Leading on all sides of the programme:

  • Support the programme team in continuously improving the programme by enhancing logistics, operations, and collaboration with the café team. Ensure seamless integration of internal and external processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Employment programme: In charge of leading the main aspects of the employment programme, especially bringing employers partners, as outlined in our employment programme steps. This includes, although not limited to:
  • Lead on Fair Shot employment programme from a strategic point of view
  • Monetise the programme and manage contracts, payments etc.
  • Networking and cold leads to secure 15+ partnerships every year
  • Secure partnerships with employers to take on Fair Shot graduates - first point of contact
  • Organise annual Fair Shot employment network event alongside Events Manager
  • Build a database of Fair Shot employers
  • Work with the Marketing Manager for the creation of Newsletter for Fair Shot employers network
  • Supporting past Fair Shot employers and graduates when needed
  • Keep improving to grow sustainably as Fair Shot grows
  • Building a solid network of employers
  • Assisting to any events, panels, or career fairs to get new potential employers
  • Keep record on Impact report based on employers and graduates data
  • Managing Supported Internship & Employment Programme Coordinators: Supporting them on all aspects of their Job description as outlined SIC. Carrying out 4 performance reviews a year as by Fair Shot policy.
  • Managing partnerships: Being a Designated Safeguarding Lead for both our learners and our graduates in their employment as well as implementing behavioural policy amongst learners and programme. Being the main point of contact with our partners for the programme - Mencap and AOD. Leading on all aspects of the partnership (apart from the selection of the learners that is lead by our CEO). Supporting Mencap with the management and jobs of skills coaches. Working alongside our partners to constantly improve our programme, make changes in line with any disagreements and problems that come up. Dealing as professionally and as quickly as possible with any conflict or disagreement that comes up with our partners - always making decisions based on the personal best interest of our learners and the values, mission and future of Fair Shot.
  • Mentorship programme: Training mentors and giving them appropriate support for them to carry out their role as successfully as possible. Maintain a solid relationship with Mentors and improve sense of belonging.
  • Impact: Lead on all impact-related aspects of the employment programme, including but not limited to engagement with learners, employers, parents, and the Fair Shot team. Ensure that all impact measurement aligns with Fair Shot's Theory of Change model, including conducting an annual review of the impact model to refine and enhance outcomes. Support the team in implementing best practices and innovative approaches to strengthen the programme's effectiveness and long-term sustainability. Lead on all sides of understanding the social impact of our programmes mainly via questionnaires with our learners, graduates, employers & parents. Create content for the Social Impact Report with the support of our Marketing Manager.
  • Programme link with all of Fair Shot team & Mencap team: Being the link between Fair Shot Team and Mencap Office/Management. Overseeing the collaboration of Fair Shot Departments with the Programme. Keep all of Fair Shot team as involved and updated as possible on the SIC and the programme. Create sufficient feedback loops, communication structures, meeting calendars etc. for the cafe team to feel they are updated and included and have enough touch points to include their expert advice. Support the Marketing Manager with all aspects of creating awareness of our programmes to the public. Send monthly updates to the Fair Shot team with updates on your department, as well as presenting at Town Hall and strategy meetings. Send around feedback surveys on the programme twice a year to be able to make constant changes in line with any problems that arise and improvements that can be made.
  • Fair Shot role model and ambassador: Uphold and embody our Fair Shot values and how we show up for Fair Shot's priorities. As a Head of Department you will cultivate the company culture with every interaction and always try your best to incentivise team cohesion and team satisfaction. Applying the organisation-wide culture-building objectives, strategies, and key results to the context of your role. Speak in panels, webinars, podcasts, interviews etc. as Fair Shot ambassador as a way to continue creating awareness for our cause. Attend networking events and constantly seeking to grow your network for the benefit of Fair Shot.
