We’re building the next generation of football intelligence. FAIR is an AI that goes beyond traditional stats to analyse every action, movement, and decision on the pitch, and evaluate how they impact team performance. Trained to understand how football should be played, FAIR gives users access to advanced football intelligence that helps them make better decisions, whether they are fans, fantasy football players, analysts, bettors or strategists.

As an AI Engineer Intern, you will work directly on the development of FAIR Chat and other AI-powered products. You will help design, build, and optimize LLM-powered applications, agent workflows, retrieval systems, and backend services. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is passionate about AI, software engineering, and football. Internship is fully remote, for a duration of 3 to 12 months, and may be part-time or full-time (preferred).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and improve AI-powered applications using LLMs
  • Develop prompt engineering strategies to improve AI performance and reliability
  • Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using vector databases
  • Integrate various APIs into production applications
  • Develop backend APIs and services using Python and FastAPI
  • Work with football datasets and football intelligence models
  • Collaborate on cloud deployment and infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Contribute to backend/frontend features using ReactJS and NodeJS
  • Implement monitoring, evaluation, and testing frameworks for AI systems
  • Participate in code reviews and software development best practices
Required Skills:
  • Programming: Strong Python programming skills, experience building APIs and backend services, good software engineering fundamentals and debugging skills
  • AI & Machine Learning: Strong understanding of LLMs, experience with Prompt Engineering, experience building RAG applications, knowledge of multi-agent architectures and agent orchestration, familiarity with AI evaluation and benchmarking
  • Databases: MongoDB, SQL databases
  • AI & Development Stack: LangChain, LangGraph, Pinecone, GitHub
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Backend & Frontend: FastAPI, NodeJS, ReactJS
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge and passion for football (soccer)
  • Experience working with football data is a plus
  • Experience deploying AI applications to production
  • Knowledge of vector databases and semantic search
  • Experience with CI/CD and modern development workflows
Education: Currently studying or recently graduated in: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning or a related field.
