The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) delivers world-class science to support agriculture, the environment, and the wider economy. Sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), AFBI provides evidence-based research and monitoring that informs government policy and promotes sustainability in Northern Ireland and beyond.
Main duties include:
- Management of grassland and animal experiments
- Emissions data collection and compilation
- Analysis of data
- Report preparation and scientific publication within the Grassland Systems Research Unit
Essential Criteria:
- PhD in grassland or animal discipline OR BSc in Agricultural Science or Environmental Science AND 2 years management experience of agricultural research trials
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
