FAFS Fire & Security is at the forefront of designing, installing, commissioning, and servicing automatic Fire Detection, Protection, and Alarm Systems around Greater London. We are seeking a dynamic Lead Engineer to join our team and oversee key engineering operations in the London and Home Counties region.
The Lead Engineer will deliver outstanding service to our new and existing customers as well as lead a team of engineers.
Role Overview:
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the engineering team to ensure that all installations and services adhere to industry standards and company policies.
- Interface with clients to ascertain project requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality service.
- Deliver PPMs, callouts, and minor works.
- Oversee workload to ensure timely completions of projects.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate team performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards at all times.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients on project-related matters, addressing concerns and providing solutions.
- Identify training needs for team members and arrange appropriate professional development.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in fire safety technology.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in fire safety engineering or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams.
- In-depth knowledge of current fire safety regulations, procedures, and standards (e.g., BS5839, BS9251).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel within the London and Home Counties area.
- Relevant qualifications in fire safety, engineering.
