You will support the delivery of an effective planning process by managing the planning team, maintaining accurate production and materials plans, and working closely with Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in full and on time. The role focuses on operational execution, continuous improvement of planning processes, and supporting alignment between demand, capacity, and inventory to maintain service levels and minimise waste.
Key responsibilities Include
- Planning & Operational Delivery
- Coordinate day-to-day production planning activities across Extrusion and Thermoforming to meet demand requirements.
- Maintain and update production plans within the ERP system (M3), ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational capacity.
- Ensure customer orders are delivered in full and on time, escalating risks where required.
- Respond to changes in demand or production issues, adjusting plans to minimise disruption.
- Forecasting & Demand Support
- Support the development and maintenance of forecast data, highlighting trends and changes in demand.
- Work with internal stakeholders to improve forecast accuracy and planning assumptions.
- Provide input into planning and review meetings, including S&OP, by supplying accurate and timely data.
- Inventory & Materials Management
- Monitor stock levels and inventory flow to ensure availability while minimising excess and obsolete stock.
- Support purchase order generation via MRP systems to align materials with production plans.
- Ensure stock profile is aligned to customer demand.
- Identify and escalate risks relating to stock shortages, slow-moving or obsolete materials.
- Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Identify potential planning or service issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the planning function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Analyse planning and performance data (actual vs forecast) and provide clear summaries to stakeholders.
- Oversee standardisation of processes.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and support the planning team to ensure effective delivery of planning activities.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and training to team members.
- Promote high standards of accuracy, accountability and customer service within the team.
- Support team engagement and development in line with site objectives.
- General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Environmental standards.
- Follow relevant financial and reporting procedures where applicable.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Site Director.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Level 5 qualification (HND/Foundation Degree) or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Business or a related field
- Have experience of planning in manufacturing
- Have experience of dealing with customers external and internal
- Working well within a team
Desirable:
- Have experience of external sales
- Experience of S&OP planning
- Understanding of our manufacturing processes and procedures

Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 15:00
