Coordinate and carry out proactive HSE inspections, audits and tours to identify and mitigate hazards/risk.
Support and engage staff in producing suitable and sufficient risk assessments covering all site activities.
Active engagement of management, staff, and other relevant stakeholders to develop a positive, proactive, and fully inclusive safety culture on site.
Develop and contribute to HSE actions plans, strategies and targets to drive continuous improvement and enhance the HSE ethos on site.
Contribute to site training plans for HSE by identifying training needs at all levels and participating in the delivery of training.
Assessing process equipment and machinery to ensure they are in a safe, working order and compliant with all relevant standards and legislation.
Support the Engineering function to coordinate and provide technical support on site compliance obligations including e.g. Fire, Electricity, LOLER, LEV, Legionella.
Provide technical advice, support and training in all aspects of Mechanical Handling, Equipment (MHE) and warehousing storage systems.
Ensure effective controls around hazardous substances (COSHH) are in place and support the implementation of effective food hygiene and contamination controls across operational areas.
Interact with company IT safety system (Assure) to proactively manage HSE related data and ensure accurate and effective HSE metrics across the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in HSE and Manufacturing.
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- IOSH Membership – Technician Level.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a dedicated HSE role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
