As a key leader within the site operations team, the Business Support Manager plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, accurate and commercially focused production planning and customer fulfilment. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end planning process β€” from order entry through to dispatch β€” ensuring the right products are manufactured and delivered in full and on time.

You will lead and develop the Site Planner, ensuring that stock profiles are optimised, inventory risks are proactively managed, and planning decisions support both operational efficiency and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all current Health & Safety, Hygiene, Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures
  • Use the business ERP system – M3 to plan the production for the entire Durham Site, including Extrusion, Thermoforming
  • Ensure customer service on time in full
  • Manage internal sales requests for the site
  • Manage the planner at Faerch Durham
  • Maximise individual and team engagement to provide high quality customer service (internal & external)
  • Recognise and highlight potential service issues across the site and work with group and the internal team to mitigate them as far as possible
  • Highlight production issues and problems, seek solutions with the internal team and implement actions to prevent recurrence
  • Own and lead the Site S&OP cycle, ensuring strong collaboration and communication across all levels of the business
  • Act as a key communication link with other Faerch sites and offices to enable seamless operational alignment and customer delivery
  • Receive, manage or escalate customer queries or complaints, supporting the team with more complex issues and making decisions where appropriate
  • Support new tool processes, new products & administration
  • Coordinate Master Data setup for the site
  • Approve special deliveries
  • Arrange and create distribution orders, plan deliveries directly with delivery points
  • Highlight obsolete stock both finished goods and raw materials
  • Carry out any reasonable ad hoc tasks or duties as directed by the Site Director or other Directors within the business
  • Maintain robust and accurate stock profiles, ensuring inventory availability supports demand while minimising excess and obsolescence

Qualifications

Essential

  • Understanding of our customer needs
  • Understanding of our customer’s business
  • Good working knowledge of all common Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent super user for the company ERP system – M3 including the planning board
  • Experience of planning in manufacturing
  • Experience of dealing with customers external and internal
  • Works well within a team

Desirable

  • Experience of external sales
  • Experience of S&OP planning
  • Understanding of our manufacturing processes and procedures

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 13:30

Salary

Up to Β£50,000 per annum
