Location: Soho, Central London. Job Type: Full-time. We are an independent, family-run Italian restaurant in the heart of Soho, specialising in authentic Bolognese cuisine and freshly handmade pasta.. We are looking for an experienced, confident and hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager with excellent hospitality skills, strong wine knowledge and a genuine passion for customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the front-of-house team during service..
- Ensure consistently high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction..
- Manage reservations, table allocation and the smooth running of service..
- Provide knowledgeable wine recommendations and professional wine service..
- Drive sales through wine recommendations, upselling and daily specials..
- Train, motivate and support front-of-house staff..
- Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally..
- Take responsibility for restaurant operations when required..
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Supervisor in a quality restaurant..
- Strong wine knowledge and professional wine service experience are essential..
- Confidence in presenting, opening and serving wines correctly..
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills..
- Fluent spoken English..
- Knowledge of Italian would be an advantage..
- A proactive attitude, reliability and attention to detail..
- A genuine passion for hospitality and excellent customer service..
