Exeter School seeks a Head of Rugby & Teacher of PE & Games. This position requires the successful candidate to be both an excellent teacher of physical education and games whilst also having overall responsibility for rugby at the school (Years 3 β 13).
This position includes overall responsibility for developing, directing, and implementing the strategic vision for Exeter School rugby, including player and coach development throughout the school (Years 3 β 13) and overseeing the effective administration of the rugby programme.
The Head of Rugby will have overarching responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the rugby programme at Exeter School ensuring that pupil athletes achieve their maximum potential. This includes shaping player pathways, supporting and developing staff, and ensuring the smooth administration of the sport.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, including the capacity to manage the fixture list, coordinate coaching teams, and maintain strong relationships across the school community. Alongside this, they will play a fundamental role in promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging within sport and rugby for all pupils and staff, ensuring that whole school aims and virtues feed into all aspects of the rugby programme.
The ideal candidate will plan and teach physical education and games lessons across the full age range (years 3-13) including all aspects of the schoolsβ PE curriculum modules as well as the core sports (boys - rugby, hockey, cricket; girls - netball, hockey, cricket).
