We actively promote wellbeing in the workplace and prioritise investing in the growth and development of our colleagues.About the Role The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the release of Purchase Orders, confirming parts and services will be delivered in line with business requirements, determining appropriate levels of stocking for standard parts and ensuring supplier data is correct. Based at the Leeds site, this role ensures the efficient flow of materials, parts, and spares to meet project, service and production needs. Working closely with all departments this is a key role to ensure the smooth flow of materials into and out of the business. The Materials Manager also leads improvements in the procurement processes, ensures system accuracy, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements are met.What You\’ll Be Doing Co‐ordinate the procurement and effective delivery of parts into the business.Ensure the Procurement Function is run effectively through close monitoring of KPI\’s.Ensure that Operations have sufficient product to build in line with business planning.Ensure that additional services for site are ordered in a timely manner.Ensure PFEP is implemented and maintained effectively.Manage transactional cost reductions.Cross‐Functional Collaboration Work closely with the Warehouse team to ensure a balanced delivery workload is achieved.Work closely with the spares team to support an agreed service level to all customers.Liaise with the Projects team to ensure delivery timelines support installation and commissioning schedules are met.Collaborate with the Production teams to maintain accurate visibility of parts availability.Ensure common processes and procedures are applied across other FT sites.Provide Procurement input into planning meetings and project reviews.Process Improvement & Compliance Monitor Procurement KPI\’s including delivery performance, freight costs, Order Release, Un‐controlled Spend and PPV.Drive continuous improvement in the procurement processes, delivery standards, and documentation accuracy.Ensure Compliance with relevant Business Governance rules are applied and enforced.Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.Manage the Materials team, supporting daily operations and prioritisation.Provide coaching, training, and support to build Procurement and systems knowledge.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer‐focused service.Supporting any performance, conduct, and absence management processes required in partnership with HR.What We\’re Looking For Experience & Knowledge Experience with ERP systems for managing a Procurement team within a manufacturing or engineering environment.Proven understanding of Operational Performance management.Ability to lead Operational Excellence Projects.Strong coordination and communication skills, with experience liaising between technical and commercial teams.Familiarity with Microsoft systems and logistics software.Skills & Attributes Highly organised, with excellent planning and time‐management skills.A proactive approach to solving problems and resolving delays or discrepancies.Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.Able to manage multiple priorities and maintain calm under pressure.Confident working cross‐functionally and building relationships across teams and colleagues at all levels.Benefits Company CarExtra Day Off for Your Birthday24 days holiday increasing with servicePension 5% matchedEV Salary Sacrifice SchemeCycle to work SchemeCompany Sick PayAccess to Financial Advisor SupportLife Assurance (6x Salary)Employee Assistance ProgrammeSustainability Commitment – Work for a company dedicated to environmentally responsible practicesFestive December ShutdownSeniority level AssociateEmployment type Full‐timeJob function Engineering and ManufacturingIndustries Engineering Services and Manufacturing
