About the Role
We are seeking 2 x Mechanical Design Engineers to join our team at Moor Road, Leeds on 12 month fixed term contracts.
This role exists to produce detailed and accurate technical drawings, layouts, and manufacturing documentation based on engineering designs and project specifications.
You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of bespoke customer solutions by translating design concepts into practical, manufacturable drawings for fabrication, ductwork, pipework, mezzanine structures, and machined components.

- What You’ll Be Doing
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for fabrications, ductwork, pipework, mezzanine structures, installation layouts, and machined components using Solid Works, Auto CAD, and Revit.
- Prepare accurate manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings, including layouts, elevations, sections, and detailed component drawings.
- Develop bespoke drawing packages that meet customer specifications, site requirements, and project objectives.
- Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, engineering best practices, and company procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Assembly, and Construction teams to develop practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
- Review and verify drawings for technical accuracy, completeness, and quality before release.
- Maintain and control engineering documentation, drawing revisions, and technical records in accordance with company standards.
- Support production and installation teams by providing technical clarification and resolving drawing-related issues.
- Provide technical support to project teams and contribute to the preparation of specifications, construction documents, and project documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance drawing standards, design processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Promote effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration to support successful project delivery and business objectives.
- What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years detailing experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software Solid Works, Auto CAD with optional Revit.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e. g. Net Suite)
- Experience managing and creating engineering documentation, ECR’s, BOMs, technical reports etc.
- Working Pattern & Travel
Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with one day per week working from home.
Salary
£35,000-£40,000 per annum. Dependent on experience.
