Job Description: Join the Deep Sector TMT team as the Technology Data Analyst for FactSet’s Technology data offering. You’ll help shape and evolve FactSet’s Technology datasets by applying your technology industry knowledge, analytical rigor, and client‑workflow awareness. You’ll help maintain and enhance our existing Tech‑sector coverage, integrate new sources across client‑facing applications, data feeds, and APIs, and translate client needs into best‑in‑class product features and workflow solutions. You’ll also contribute to defining and executing a strategic roadmap for FactSet’s Technology sector offering. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience analyzing or advising Technology companies — for example as an equity research analyst, investment banker, buy‑side industry analyst, hedge fund analyst, management consultant covering Tech, or a Tech‑sector specialist within a financial data or insights platform.
What You'll Do:
- Data Management: Participate directly and indirectly in the extraction, cleaning, and transformation of large, complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Data Validation: Use human‑in‑the‑loop curation and validation tools to ensure data quality evolves with reporting standards and requirements while maintaining timely, complete outputs.
- Client Engagement: Partner with FactSet’s sales/consulting teams, data providers, and clients to understand workflows, pain points, and feature requests — and to position our offerings against their needs and competitor solutions.
- Requirement Definition: Translate qualitative and quantitative client insights into clear product requirements, specifications, and user stories that delight and exceed client expectations.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, QA, UX, other content developers as well as specialized data teams to deliver value to clients.
- Presentation & Training: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demos of FactSet’s Technology sector offerings—in person and virtually—to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Partnerships & Opportunities: Monitor the market for data partnership or acquisition opportunities that strengthen FactSet’s Technology offering.
- Team Development: Mentor and train team members in content collection and integration processes, product workflows, and best practices.
- Data Ownership: Identify areas of opportunity where FactSet can own and operate data collection and reduce reliance on third‑party data spend.
Required Skills: What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 3 years working directly with Technology companies or Tech‑sector data, ideally through equity research, investment banking, buy‑side industry analysis, hedge fund analysis, management consulting, or Tech‑focused analytical roles at data/analytics platforms.
- Strong understanding of how Technology companies operate and report performance, with familiarity across industry metrics, competitive dynamics, and valuation drivers for public and private Tech businesses.
- Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Python).
- Hands‑on experience preparing, validating, and synthesizing datasets used in financial modeling, research, or decision‑support workflows.
- Familiarity with distributed data systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills; ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate data findings into product requirements, client workflows, and compelling narratives.
Desired Skills:
- CFA/CPA designation or capital markets experience a plus.
