About The Role
We are seeking a senior Property Data SME to design, build, and scale a best-in-class "Single Source of Truth" for global property data. This role sits at the intersection of real estate domain expertise and data architecture, with responsibility for integrating siloed datasets into a single, consolidated property-level platform.
What You’ll Do
- Define and own the property data model, including entities, relationships, and identifiers across assets, owners, and transactions.
- Design scalable data models for real estate data, including transactions, financial data, and geospatial information.
- Focus on data architecture and modeling, data integration, and governance in a real estate context.
- Partner closely with engineers to guide database architecture decisions and ensure delivery of intended outcomes.
- Translate business and data requirements into clear technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Lead the integration of multiple internal and external datasets into a unified, scalable property database.
- Serve as the domain expert on publicly traded REITs and major property owners.
- Establish standards for property classification, operating metrics, and valuation frameworks.
- Define and monitor data quality and completeness metrics.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in similar roles at real estate data firms (such as Trepp, RCA, Green Street, CoStar), real estate prop tech firms such as Zillow, real estate development/management companies, or private equity firms.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining property-level databases, including schema design and data normalization.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and reconcile siloed datasets into a consolidated, production-grade database.
- Deep knowledge of publicly traded REITs, property owners, and key real estate data sources.
- Strong understanding of property types, operating metrics (e.g., NOI, occupancy, rent), and valuation metrics (e.g., cap rates, LTV, DSCR).
- For U.S. candidates, must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Skills
- Strong technical and database skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with and manage engineering teams.
- Track record of delivering scalable data platforms in a complex, cross-team environment.
- Experience with major estate data providers such as S&P Capital IQ Pro, CoStar, RCA, MSCI/RCA, Trepp or Green Street.
- SQL, python, or other data-focused technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to leverage AI tools in research workflows.
The budgeted amount range for this position in the State of Connecticut and in New York City is $120K- $150K. Please note: the salary range may differ in other locations or countries.
