StreetAccount is a division of FactSet that aggregates, filters, and contextualizes real‑time financial market news for institutional investors. We are adding to our team in APAC and seeking to fill the role of Market News Analyst covering AsiaPac markets with a focus on India, Japan or Korea. The role involves all aspects of providing content to our clients, from identifying information, research, and news that is material and actionable, to writing concise comments that enable investors to immediately grasp their impact. The team works in varying shifts covering the activity of the APAC markets including Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Australia.
What You’ll Do
- Review company releases, assess their materiality and compose summary comments
- Review industry data and regulatory announcements, assess their materiality and compose summary comments
- Search for breaking, market-impacting news across external sources such as financial publications, newswires and PR sites
- Work with proprietary spreadsheets to generate market data and information
- Use the FactSet workstation to collate and generate market insights
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years of professional experience
- A passionate interest in financial markets, as well as a clear understanding of how news affects equities and the broader markets
- Previous work experience in a market-focused role (analyst, trader, PM, equity/currency/bond sales, economist, etc.)
- Equity/market knowledge and understanding of global markets
- Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills
- The ability to digest and analyse information quickly
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with APAC markets; in particular India, China, Japan or South Korea
- Familiarity with how policies/regulators affect sectors/stocks
- Ability to read Chinese, Korean or Japanese ideal, but not necessary
- Sector experts wanted – tech (internet, semiconductor, delivery/car-hailing), commodities (metals, coal, rare earths), hospitality (restaurants, tourism), financials (banks, insurance, digital yuan, online payments)
- A network of existing contacts to source real-time market information
