The main purpose of the Event Manager role is to deliver events and activities across Factory International’s programmes of work including commercial events, brand activations, large scale concerts, and public programmes. The role brings organisation and creativity to event development and delivery, liaising with external partners to create memorable projects. The position reports to the Producing and Programme Department, responsible for scheduling, planning and delivering all activity within the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute day‑to‑day delivery of assigned events across Factory International’s commercial programmes.
  • Communicate professionally with partners, providing comprehensive customer service, capturing accurate briefs and offering creative and technical input.
  • Develop project plans, timetables, and schedules based on event briefs and maintain accurate event reports and debriefs.
  • Monitor and forecast event budgets, deliver events within budget, maximise add‑on value and manage post‑event budget reconciliation, including raising contra invoices.
  • Support negotiation and drafting of contracts for the sales and programming teams.
  • Ensuring a clear flow of information across internal teams using appropriate internal systems.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in event and/or project management, managing multiple activities and delivering high‑quality events.
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing a busy and complex workload under pressure.
  • Financial literacy, experience in costings, quotes, and budget management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building strong relationships with corporate clients, promoters, and brand partners.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams, assess complex situations quickly and devise creative solutions.
  • Proficient in using IT systems relevant to the organisation.
  • Commitment to champion representation and inclusion, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant statutory checks (e.g., DBS).

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working with commercial and corporate clients and major brands.
  • Experience creatively developing and iterating events with partners.
  • Experience with event management systems and processes such as Artifax and Spektrix.
  • Experience working in a wide range of venues and sites.
