The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Factory International’s IT infrastructure, including helpdesk services, hardware, AV systems, networks, cybersecurity, and domain governance. The role also manages website infrastructure and third‑party suppliers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with contracts. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the IT Manager provides technical expertise to deliver projects, implementing and enhancing systems to meet business needs, and may lead or contribute specialist input throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all technology services are run to the highest standards and quality of service (performance), with minimal service disruption or downtime.
  • Operational management of enterprise network infrastructure, including HPE Aruba wired and wireless networks, ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability.
  • Management and ongoing optimisation of perimeter and internal network security using Palo Alto next‑generation firewalls (or equivalent), including policy management, logging, rule reviews and threat prevention features.
  • Website infrastructure – manage the service provider contract for website operations, upgrades, and maintenance. Liaise with the Audience web team and software development provider on all aspects.
  • Line management of the IT support team and external contractors.
  • Managing the central IT helpdesk function – establish and develop effective fault/support services.
  • Administration and continuous improvement of endpoint and device security via Microsoft Intune, including device compliance policies, conditional access integration, and endpoint hardening.
  • Bi‑monthly review of status (M365, Azure, website) and push to reduce recommendations/remediations and deliver improvements in scoring.
  • Managing the relevant IT budget aspects, including OPEX, leases and capital expenditure, while tracking and monitoring costs to stay within budget and ensure cost‑effectiveness.
  • Monthly reporting on project status, as well as service desk and network performance.

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in IT infrastructure and operations management in a complex, multi‑site or venue‑based environment.
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing enterprise networking solutions, including HPE Aruba switching and wireless platforms.
  • Proven experience administering Palo Alto next‑generation firewalls (or equivalent), including security policy management and troubleshooting.
  • Practical experience managing Windows, iOS and other endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune, including compliance, configuration profiles and application deployment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID and identity‑based security controls.
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation, with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant statutory checks (eg DBS). Factory International can support processing and payment.

  • Experience supporting Cyber Essentials or similar cyber security frameworks.
  • Experience working with third‑party IT service providers and managed service contracts.
  • Exposure to creative, cultural or event‑led organisations.
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent.
