The Marketing Manager plays a central role in delivering Factory International’s audience and income ambitions. Working closely with the Head of Audiences and Senior Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns that drive attendance and revenue, ensuring our work reaches and reflects the full diversity of Manchester and beyond. Alongside artistic programmes, you will also support the marketing of commercial activity including brand partnerships, live music, venue hire and food and beverage, contributing to the organisation’s wider commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Strategy & Delivery: Lead the development and delivery of ambitious, creative, multi-channel marketing campaigns from planning through to evaluation, meeting attendance, revenue and audience diversity targets. Translate audience insight, data and organisational priorities into clear targeting, positioning and messaging. Lead the briefing and management of creative and media agencies, as well as internal teams such as Design or Digital Content, to produce bold campaigns. Maintain and develop the Factory International brand across all channels and ensure consistency, clarity and accuracy of messaging across all campaign outputs. Be a champion of access marketing, integrating best working practices across all campaigns.
  • Commercial Delivery: Contribute to delivering ticket income and wider commercial revenue targets. As well as ticketed artistic programme, support and deliver campaigns across our commercial arm for brand partnerships, music, venue hire and food and beverage. Monitor sales performance and optimise campaigns to maximise conversion, yield and secondary spend.
  • Audience Development: Develop strategies to reach priority and underrepresented audiences, embedding equity and inclusion across all campaigns. Work collaboratively with our Public Engagement and Factory Academy teams to build meaningful, long-term relationships with communities. Work collaboratively across teams to deliver a joined‑up audience approach across all touchpoints.
  • Data & Performance: Use data, insight and market intelligence to inform strategy and decision‑making. Track campaign and sales performance, responding proactively to optimise results. Lead evaluation and reporting, sharing insights to improve future campaigns.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Considerable experience developing and delivering integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns from strategy through to evaluation.
  • Good working knowledge of CRM, ticketing and digital marketing software.
  • Strong track record of delivering against income, sales or audience growth targets.
  • Experience using data, insight and audience segmentation to inform campaign strategy and optimise performance.
  • Experience managing campaign budgets and phasing.
  • Ability to balance artistic ambition with commercial outcomes, making informed decisions to maximise impact and revenue.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders including internal teams, external agencies and partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align teams around a clear strategy.
  • Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity and inclusive audience development.
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Willing to take relevant statutory checks eg DBS (Factory International can support with processing and payment).

Desirable:

  • Experience in direct line management and developing skills with junior team members.
  • Experience working in arts, culture, events or destination marketing.
  • Experience supporting commercial activity such as partnerships, sponsorship, venue hire, music or retail/F&B.
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent.
