Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Metal Worker role based in Swindon. The Metal Worker will fabricate and assemble mainly stainless steel and other metal components for street furniture, following technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, shaping, and welding metal parts, operating workshop machinery and hand tools, The role involves inspecting finished products for quality, accuracy, and safety, collaborating with designers and other makers to resolve technical issues, and assisting with occasional custom or bespoke builds.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Metalworking skills, including polishing cutting, forming, and finishing metal components.
- Relevant experience in a fabrication or workshop environment, ideally in furniture, construction, or engineering.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including safe use of machinery and PPE.
- Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with a small, multidisciplinary team..
