A market-leading, private equity-backed grounds care and landscaping services business is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead and scale its national commercial growth strategy. This is a critical leadership role within a high-performing, acquisitive organisation operating across commercial, public sector, education, and specialist outdoor environments.
The Opportunity
You will own and drive the end-to-end sales and business development function, building a scalable, professional sales engine aligned to ambitious growth targets and an active M&A strategy. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team and PE sponsors, you will play a central role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national sales and growth strategy across grounds maintenance and landscaping services
- Lead, mentor and scale a high-performing sales and bid team
- Drive major contract wins across commercial, local authority, education, healthcare and infrastructure sectors
- Strengthen key client relationships and framework agreements
- Professionalise sales processes, pricing discipline and pipeline management
- Partner closely with Operations to ensure commercially sound, deliverable contracts
- Act as a visible senior leader internally and externally within the market
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior sales leadership experience within grounds maintenance, landscaping, or related outdoor services
- Strong track record of winning and managing large, multi-site or national contracts
- Experience operating in a PE-backed, growth-oriented environment (or comparable high-accountability setting)
- Commercially astute, data-driven and comfortable presenting to boards and investors
- Inspirational leader with the ability to build scalable teams and processes
- UK market expertise and strong sector relationships essential
Package
- Base salary: £150,000 – £200,000 (dependent on experience)
