About this role: Factal is seeking a full-time Developer to join our Seattle-based technology team (remote US/UK resident candidates welcome). Your role would be developing interactive interfaces for our users as well as internal tools for our team of editors. We have a web application (a blend of features akin to working on X/Twitter, Facebook, Maps apps, and News apps) as well as administrative interfaces that need good design thinking and smart execution. The ability to code Javascript and Python/Django at least at an intermediate level is a requirement.
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience developing a complex web application/interface using a combination of Javascript, Django, Python, and PostgreSQL
- Has experience dealing with geographic data such as shapefiles, spatial queries, and mapping SDKs
- Has experience with testing frameworks, tools, and best practices
- Has experience working on high-use, large-scale applications
- Doesn't need complex instructions/specs/workflows to get things done
- Prefers to work for a small company, one with a mission, and wants to contribute
