Responds to general maintenance duties and operates building equipment and systems to include building engineer/technician operational duties as assigned. Performs general preventive & statutory maintenance, minor repair/replacement (mostly POUs), testing, installation, servicing of TMVs, troubleshooting of plumbing, water and other distribution systems throughout the facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Completes plumbing safety inspections and PM's on backflow devices as assigned (with proper certifications).
  • Acts as a resource to and provides training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair in a safe manner.
  • Maintains waste and vent lines in good operating condition using a plumber's snake, vacuum plunger and/or jet washer.
  • Performs other duties and assistance to the various shift teams when required.
  • Pro-Active fault finding - identifying faults and fixing first time where possible.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces, tests and troubleshoots the water and distribution system including valves, fixtures, and outlets.
  • May be required to install new water, piping, and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, drawings, specifications and applicable codes.
  • Assists other department staff with equipment installations where plumbing expertise are required.
