Facilities by ADF provides serviced vehicle hire for television and film productions in the UK and Europe, specialising in on-location support for dramas and major features. We are currently recruiting for a skilled HGV Mechanic.
Location: Longcross, Surrey
Salary: Competitive Salary and Benefits package
Hours: 45 Hour Week (Inc. paid breaks). On-call rota also in place.

The company has a very close alignment with TV & video-on-demand serial productions, who demand high quality vehicles and support services. This market is rapidly growing and presenting huge opportunities. ADF operates and maintains a fleet of over 500 highest quality make-up, costume, and artiste trailers, together with mobile production offices, diners, school rooms and technical vehicles. ADF is the only high volume, UK-based operator to provide a fully managed, 24/7 service, with dedicated account management, and experienced operational staff at production locations to support the services provided. This is absolutely key for the global clients it now supports.
HGV Mechanic Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
- Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
- MOT preparation to DVSA standards
- Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
- Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
- Use of diagnostic equipment
HGV Mechanic You:
Essential:
- 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
- Time Served mechanic or possess City & Guilds 1,2 & 3 Certificates or equivalent with experience and have a technical experience in HGV and trailer servicing and repairs
- IT Literate
- High level of communication
- Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
- Good organizational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Initiative to work autonomously
- Must have the right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- HGV license beneficial (Class 1)
- IRTEC Registered
- Knowledge of R2C Fleet Maintenance system or equivalent
