Lead Mechanical Operative to join a Facilities Management contract in Manchester.

This position is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who wants to take greater responsibility for site maintenance delivery while remaining hands-on technically.

The Role Youll act as a senior mechanical presence on site, supporting the wider engineering team and helping ensure planned and reactive maintenance is delivered effectively.

Typical duties will include

  • Leading mechanical maintenance activities across site
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • Responding to reactive faults and breakdowns
  • Fault finding and repairs across mechanical systems
  • Supporting and guiding other engineers
  • Monitoring PPM completion and outstanding works
  • Hot and cold water system maintenance
  • Pumps, valves, AHUs and associated mechanical plant
  • Supporting legionella and water hygiene compliance
  • Completing maintenance records and CAFM updates
  • Liaising with site management and contractors
  • Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed
