We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Static Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a prestigious government facilities contract. This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

As part of our on-site maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical systems and plant across a high-profile estate.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical systems and building services equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in systems such as HVAC, pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Manage spare parts and materials to support maintenance and reactive works.
  • Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial tasks.
  • Complete and submit maintenance documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all work to ensure safe operations.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with site procedures.
  • Maintain and update the CAFM system with accurate job information.
  • Support emergency maintenance situations to ensure site continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and internal SHEQ policies.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds).
  • Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance or building services role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and associated plant.
  • Ability to fault-find and resolve complex mechanical issues independently.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (BPSS/CTC).

Desirable:

  • F-Gas certification.
  • L8 Legionella awareness.
  • IOSH Working Safely or similar health & safety training.
