We're recruiting for a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team, supporting a portfolio of schools and community healthcare properties across Birmingham. - Shift pattern:
- Week 1: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
- Week 2: Monday-Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm
- On-call rota
- Ongoing training and career progression
The Role
As a Mobile Mechanical Engineer, you'll work across multiple school and healthcare sites, ensuring mechanical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC, boilers, pumps, heating, ventilation and water systems.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
- Completing reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Undertaking minor mechanical installations and upgrades.
- Identifying and ordering replacement parts.
- Maintaining accurate job records using CAFM systems.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Plumbing or a relevant mechanical discipline.
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Previous experience within a building maintenance or facilities management environment.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience working within education, healthcare or large estate environments (desirable).
- Competent Person/Authorised Person experience relating to ventilation and/or pressure systems (desirable).
- The ability to successfully pass an Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check.
