We are currently recruiting for an experienced electrician to join the maintenance team at a large healthcare site in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for a stable, long-term position within a professional healthcare environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of electrical installation, maintenance and repair works across the site, ensuring all systems and assets remain safe, compliant and operational. Your duties will include:
- General electrical installations and repairs
- Repairing and replacing sockets, switches and lamps
- Retrofitting electrical components
- Rewiring assets and equipment
- Emergency lighting maintenance and testing
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
- Fuse board inspections and checks
- PAT testing
- RCD testing
- Electrical fault finding and repairs
- General electrical maintenance across the healthcare site
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant regulations
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- AM2
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance and/or installations
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- A strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
- The ability to work professionally within a healthcare environment
