We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead hard services delivery on a large, complex, and business-critical site in the North West. Working for a leading global FM provider, you will take full technical ownership of critical engineering systems, ensuring safety, compliance, uptime, and continuous improvement across the site.
This is a senior on-site role, ideal for a technically strong leader with experience in critical environments such as data centres, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or other high-risk facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for all hard FM services, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and critical systems
- Act as the site technical authority, ensuring statutory compliance and adherence to client and company standards
- Manage and develop a multi-skilled engineering team, including shift and specialist engineers
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance strategies to ensure maximum asset availability and resilience
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for technical failures or unplanned outages
- Manage contractors and specialist service partners, ensuring safe systems of work at all times
- Support lifecycle planning, asset replacement, and capital works projects
- Build strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders, acting as the trusted technical lead
- Drive continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and best practice across the site
- Strong technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering (ideally electrically biased)
- Proven experience managing hard FM services within a critical or high-risk environment
- Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and safe systems of work
- Confident leader with experience managing engineers and subcontractors
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Comfortable working in a client-facing role within a corporate or regulated environment
