FLT / Warehouse Operative (Counterbalance) – Day Shift

Location: Wellingborough

Job Type: Temp to Perm

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Temp to Perm

Shift: Monday – Friday

Hours: 06:00–14:00 (Training on 14:00–22:00 shift until competent)

Pay Rates: Standard (Mon–Fri): £14.35 per hour, after 13 weeks will rise to £14.45. Overtime payable only after completion of 37.5 contracted weekly hours.

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Counterbalance FLT Driver for a long‑term, temp‑to‑perm opportunity with excellent training and progression. You will spend 60% of your time operating a B1 Counterbalance truck and 40% completing warehouse duties, including using an overhead crane (full training provided). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of FLT work, production support, and hands‑on warehouse tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating a B1 Counterbalance to load lorries by bundles
  • Feeding materials to the production line
  • Stock rotation and replenishment
  • Moving finished products to designated warehouse locations
  • Using an overhead crane (training provided)
  • Completing production and warehouse paperwork
  • Conducting daily safety checks on equipment
  • General warehouse duties, including some heavy lifting
  • Carrying out quality checks using tools such as micrometers

Training

You will initially train on the 2pm–10pm back shift until fully competent. Once signed off, you will transfer permanently to the 06:00–14:00 day shift.
