Milling Machine Operator Key Responsibilities
- Supervise changeovers and set mills according to Setting Sheets
- Ensure finished products meet quality plans
- Record roll settings and adjustment changes when required
- Read and interpret setting sheets, reporting changes to management
- Inspect tooling and report any anomalies
- Maintain optimum tooling stock levels
- Complete production paperwork accurately and on time
- Use measuring equipment as required
- Check raw material quality and sizes
- Report machinery breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime
- Assist with machinery repairs where instructed
- Follow equipment instructions and quarantine procedures
- Use the overhead crane where authorised
- Implement process improvements to optimise output and quality
- Reload and restart mills safely and efficiently
- Communicate with previous and next shifts to ensure smooth handover
