The Company

Our client is a well-established specialist façade contractor delivering cladding, curtain walling and building envelope packages on major projects across London and the South East. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to add an experienced Buyer to their procurement team at their Essex office.

The Role

As Buyer, you will take ownership of the procurement of materials and subcontract packages across multiple live façade projects, working closely with project managers, estimators and quantity surveyors to ensure materials are sourced competitively and delivered on programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Procuring façade materials including cladding panels, curtain walling systems, glazing, brackets, fixings and ancillary components
  • Obtaining, analysing and negotiating supplier quotations to achieve best value
  • Raising purchase orders and managing them through to delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with façade system suppliers and manufacturers
  • Monitoring material lead times and flagging programme risks early
  • Working with site teams to schedule call-offs and manage deliveries
  • Supporting the commercial team with cost reporting and budget tracking
  • Ensuring all materials meet project specifications and compliance requirements

The Person

  • Proven experience as a Buyer within the façades, cladding or building envelope sector (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of façade materials, systems and the supplier market
  • Confident negotiator with a track record of driving cost savings
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Organised, with the ability to manage procurement across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong IT skills including Excel; experience with procurement software an advantage
  • Full UK right to work
