Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Façade Engineer to join a growing London team and help deliver a wide variety of façade projects. The role offers exposure to everything from investigative surveys and defect assessments to large‑scale new‑build developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take an active role in the delivery of façade projects in a technically competent and timely manner
- Provide technical façade engineering advice to various stakeholders
- Develop façade documentation and specifications to a high level of quality
- Communicate effectively using various digital approaches
- Research into and dissemination of new products and supporting literature
- Review specialist contractor submissions
- Supervision and mentoring of other design staff, checking and approving documentation for issue
Candidate Specification
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or significant experience from within the façade industry
- Chartered Engineer status preferred (or working towards professional qualification)
- Strong experience in façade design with detailed understanding of structure, weathertightness, fire protection, thermal performance, durability etc
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including report preparation
- Be a self‑motivated, enthusiastic and team focused individual able to collaborate in a multi‑discipline environment to successfully deliver Mott MacDonald façade projects
