HRS02 forms part of the HS2 Rail Systems programme and operates within strict HS2 Works Information and ISO 19650 requirements.

The BIM Coordinator role supports the delivery of BIM/AIM processes across the HRS02 M&E scope.

It provides operational support to the HRS02 BIM Lead in managing digital information across the project lifecycle.

The role acts as the primary operational contact for suppliers on BIM and information delivery matters and is responsible for coordinating day to day information delivery, resolving routine issues and preparing required reporting.

Strategic direction, governance ownership and senior stakeholder engagement remain with the HRS02 BIM Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary operational contact for suppliers on BIM and digital delivery matters.

Receive, triage and resolve issues relating to access, modelling methodology, coordination, noncompliance and workflow etc.

Escalate significant programme issues to the HRS02 BIM Lead.

  • Monitor and provide visibility to the HRS02 BIM Lead on digital readiness and delivery risks e. g.

Monitor deliverables listed in the MIDP ensuring additions and subtractions are valid and have followed process.

  • Coordinate updates to the MPDT in collaboration with Design Managers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Document Control, Engineering, Integration or Quality where cross functional input is required.
  • Coordinate the federated model across HRS02 parties and facilitate clash avoidance / detection / resolution activities.

Review alignment between models, drawings and associated deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Attend design and coordination meetings as the BIM operational lead.

  • Support compliance of all Information deliverables with HS2 and project Information requirements including the integration of CSM and CDM data and asset UAIDs into graphical models.
  • Support Project and supply chain use of the PIM and AIM CDEs in line with WI requirements including metadata requirements, deliverables management and Assurance.

Monitor information exchanges and support where required.

  • Provide digital coordination support to the HRS02 Interface Manager e. g.

Attend interface meetings and track information related actions, Monitor representation of interface requirements within models and documentation.

  • Support coordination of structured asset data delivery: e. g.

Monitor progressive completeness and consistency of asset data outputs, Assist in preparation for validation activities ahead of sectional completion etc.

  • Prepare and maintain digital reporting required under HS2 and WI processes.
  • In conjunction with the design team, produce regular reports covering: MIDP status, Information delivery performance metrics, Clash detection and coordination status, Non-compliance trends, Information deliverable status metrics, Readiness indicators for construction and assurance.
  • Support preparation for audits and governance reviews by collating and validating required evidence.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and recording BIM training to embed BIM processes and delegating to others in the BIM team towards achieving Level aspirations
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of the digital tool sets required to carry out the work required (Autodesk/Bentley/Trimble etc)
  • Experience in BIM coordination or information management on major infrastructure or rail projects.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and Common Data Environment processes.
  • Experience coordinating federated models and clash detection.
  • Track record of developing effective relationships with colleagues and supply chain.
  • Proven written, verbal and presentation skills e. g. report writing, management papers, etc.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change quickly.
  • Proactively manage own development.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with HS2 Works Information and reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of CDM and design risk management processes.
  • Knowledge of data science and ability to get insight from data.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience of the construction industry and / or design / project lifecycles.
  • Minimum qualifications HND in a suitable field
  • Preferably have project or design coordination experience
  • Excellent digital Tool set experience including Bentley Applications

Desirable

  • ISO 19650 related certification.
  • Relevant BIM or digital management qualifications.
  • Experience of working to HS2 Information Requirements
