ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a skilled Building Services Engineer to join our Compliance & Facilities team and take ownership of the maintenance and compliance of our growing salon estate across the UK. This is a hands‑on, multi‑skilled engineering role with a strong focus on plumbing, building services, and preventive maintenance. You’ll play a key role in keeping our salons safe, operational and looking their best, while helping us continue to build our internal engineering capability and reduce reliance on external contractors.

Working closely with the Compliance & Facilities Manager and Maintenance Technician, you’ll manage reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and improvement projects across our portfolio. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and having real ownership over their work across multiple sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out reactive maintenance across our UK salon portfolio, diagnosing and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Take ownership of plumbing repairs including toilets, leaks, taps, pipework, waste systems, pumps, water heaters and immersion tanks.
  • Diagnose and resolve boiler and water heating system issues, identifying practical long‑term solutions where possible.
  • Complete general building services maintenance including building fabric repairs, carpentry, decorating and minor installations.
  • Carry out basic electrical fault finding and repairs within competency, including lighting, equipment and small electrical issues.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities through MaintainX, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
  • Complete compliance checks including emergency lighting testing and fire door inspections where qualified.
  • Support HVAC maintenance through routine inspections, basic fault finding and working alongside specialist contractors where required.
  • Assist with salon improvements, installations and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain high standards across our estate and identify opportunities to improve reliability and prevent recurring issues.
  • Build strong relationships with salon teams and provide a reliable, customer‑focused engineering service.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have proven experience in Building Services, Facilities Maintenance or Multi‑Skilled Engineering.
  • You have a strong plumbing background with experience fault finding and repairing issues such as leaks, toilets, taps, boilers and water heating systems.
  • You have experience delivering both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • You are comfortable working across multiple sites and enjoy the variety that comes with a multi‑site role.
  • You have basic electrical knowledge and are confident carrying out minor electrical repairs within your competency.
  • You take pride in delivering high‑quality work and finding practical solutions rather than short‑term fixes.
  • You are proactive, organised and able to manage your own workload independently.
  • You’re confident using technology and maintenance systems such as CAFM/FM software (MaintainX desirable), Microsoft Office and email.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with teams across the business.
  • You’re willing to travel nationally and can be flexible with working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends when required to complete works outside salon trading hours.

LOCATION:

This is a full‑time, permanent role based from our Support Centre hub in London, with travel required across our UK salon portfolio. You’ll be expected to travel regularly between sites, with travel expenses covered. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to complete maintenance activities outside of salon trading hours.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

  • Private healthcare and wellness support – Enjoy access to private healthcare including phone/video GP appointments and treatment in private hospitals where NHS wait times are high.
