We are seeking an intermediate building services engineering technician to join our Building Engineering London group working on a wide variety of prestigious UK and international projects. The successful candidate will become a permanent member of our creative, friendly team and will work on some of the most exciting buildings in the world.

The opportunity. As an MEP BIM Technician, the successful candidate will be expected to take on and assist in the production of all MEP Building Information Modelling deliverables. You will also provide technical support to our engineers as part of design teams working on projects across a variety of sectors. The role will include:

  • Direct production of MEP Building Information Modelling (BIM) deliverables across a diverse range of projects.
  • Production of drawings and schedules.
  • Checking drawings and models for accuracy and quality to maintain required standards.
  • An opportunity for development of BIM implementation along with sharing knowledge to others.
  • Development of individuals within the team, including providing guidance, training and feedback.
  • Managing work on a range of projects to ensure deadlines are met, on time and on budget.
  • Contributing to development of good practice and processes through involvement with Arup’s skills networks.
  • Opportunities for further development, with guidance, support and training.

Is this role right for you? We are looking to speak to people who:

  • Achieved at least an HNC in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Ideally have achieved a minimum level of Eng Tech qualification via the Engineering Council. If not professionally qualified, the candidate must be prepared to work towards achieving this with support and guidance from Arup.
  • Proven experience in delivery of building projects.
  • Proven understanding of building services design principles.
  • Proven experience working in a BIM environment.
  • Experience of working with software, including the following software packages:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk Navisworks
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • Other relevant 3D/BIM package experience will be considered
    • Microsoft Office and equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to explain thinking and design decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • High motivation and willingness to take on new challenges.
