My client is the country's biggest name in the live events business, operating across exhibitions, conferences, music, sports, entertainment and hospitality. It is looking for a brilliant operator to lead and deliver all PR and Communications activity for the Group, protecting and enhancing its corporate reputation while proactively supporting commercial objectives across arenas, exhibitions and conventions.

- The role is based in the West Midlands
- It's a full-time role, with three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) in the office
- The base salary is up to £60k
- Applicants must be comfortable with the location and commute, either by car or using the convenient rail connections in and around Birmingham
This is the very definition of an all-round brief - blending consumer and corporate comms in a role that’s both senior and hands-on. You will be responsible for day-to-day press office activity, proactive media engagement, corporate and CEO communications, and first-line issues and crisis management. You will work closely with an external PR agency for national press and crisis support but retain clear ownership of strategy, messaging and delivery across trade and regional media, as well as corporate social.
The timing of the role coincides with a desire within the business to be more front and centre with the media. When you consider the incredible range of events (B2C and B2B) lined up for 2026 and beyond, there is no shortage of activity for this person to sink their teeth into. Put it all together and the post-holder will be a confident, credible operator who can work at pace, manage competing priorities and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Naturally, previous experience supporting large venues, events, hospitality, culture or complex multi-stakeholder organisations would be helpful. However, what is essential is proven experience running a press office function independently, and a strong understanding of the UK media landscape. This includes local, regional, trade and broadcast media, which are so key to ticket sales.
