We are supporting a well-established organisation in Burton upon Trent as they look to appoint a qualified Pensions Accountant. This is a key role within the business, responsible for the financial management, reporting and governance of pension schemes.
Working as part of the wider HR function and partnering closely with Finance, you will play an integral role in ensuring pension-related financial activity is accurate, compliant, and clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders. This position would suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys ownership, cross-functional working and contributing to robust financial control in a specialist area.
Description of the role:- Manage and maintain accurate accounting records for pension schemes.
- Prepare journals, reconciliations and cashflow reporting.
- Produce statutory pension accounts and support corporate disclosures.
- Coordinate pension-related audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare regular forecasts and financial information for Finance and actuarial partners.
- Act as a key point of contact for third-party administrators and advisers.
- Work closely with Payroll and Finance to support Defined Contribution processes.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
- At least 2 years post-qualified experience.
- Strong background in financial and statutory accounting.
- Experience working with auditors in a medium to large UK organisation.
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP or SAP experience advantageous.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator able to work across multiple teams.
