Fable Stores | Loughton, Essex Fable Stores is looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Loughton. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for food, strong kitchen experience and solid management skills. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable leading a team while remaining actively involved in preparation and service. Our kitchen is fully open and visible to our customers , so organisation, cleanliness and professionalism are an essential part of the role. We are looking for a Head Chef who can create a positive, calm and well-structured kitchen environment while maintaining high standards throughout the day. Key responsibilities: • Leading, supporting and motivating the kitchen team • Managing the day-to-day organisation of the kitchen • Creating and developing seasonal dishes, specials and new menu ideas • Ensuring consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control • Training and developing members of the kitchen team • Organising prep, sections and service efficiently • Managing stock, ordering and food waste • Maintaining food cost awareness and helping control kitchen margins • Ensuring excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health
