Fable England is looking for an experienced Senior Handbag & Small Leather Goods Designer to join us on a freelance, project basis to lead the design of a seasonal capsule collection. This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer with strong commercial expertise, excellent technical knowledge, and a passion for beautiful, storytelling-led product.
Location: Ideally London-based, with the ability to work from our Camden creative studio 1–2 days per week during key stages of the project.
What You'll Do:
- Design a cohesive capsule of handbags and SLGs aligned with seasonal creative direction
- Produce detailed CADs and tech packs for development
- Select materials, trims, and hardware with commercial awareness
- Liaise with factories on sampling and product refinement
- Balance creativity with cost/margin targets
- Contribute to range planning and calendar tracking
We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of experience designing handbags and SLGs
- A strong portfolio showing commercially successful designs
- Solid technical understanding of construction and materials
- Fluent in Adobe Illustrator and bag/accessory CADs
- Comfortable preparing BOMs and working directly with suppliers
- Self-motivated, efficient, and collaborative
